Ross Barkley starred with two goals and one assist in 83 minutes, while Nicolas Jackson scored twice in 78 minutes. Johan Manzambi scored in the 12th minute and finished with one goal. Tammy Abraham added a goal in the 90th minute. Boubacar Kamara, Ibrahim Mbaye and Alysson each recorded an assist. Fenerbahce’s Matteo Guendouzi was booked in the 42nd minute, and Ogun Aydin was booked in the 78th. Fenerbahce made three substitutions in the 69th minute. Villa replaced Kamara and Manzambi in the 73rd, Jackson in the 78th, Mbaye in the 79th and Barkley in the 83rd. Aston Villa improved to 1-0 in the competition and 3-3-2 across all competitions. Fenerbahce fell to 0-1 in the competition and 2-1 overall. Aston Villa next plays Newcastle, while Fenerbahce hosts Alanyaspor.
