Cermak’s early goal lifts Bohemians past Mlada Boleslav
PRAHA (Interstat) — Bohemians defeated Mlada Boleslav 1-0 on Wednesday at Stadion Ďolíček in Praha, using Ales Cermak’s 13th-minute goal to secure the win. Cermak was booked in second-half stoppage time, one of several yellow cards in a physical match. Mlada Boleslav received cautions through Zika, Majer, Klima and Subert, while Bohemians saw Smrz, Krobot, Fruhwald, Obinaya, Cermak and Lischka carded. The visitors pushed for an equalizer after halftime, but Bohemians’ defense held, and Cermak’s late booking came after the hosts had done enough to protect the advantage. Bohemians improved to 2-0 in the competition and 3-0 across all competitions. Mlada Boleslav dropped to 0-2 in the competition and 1-2 overall. Bohemians next play at Artis Brno, while Mlada Boleslav host Teplice. The victory followed Bohemians’ recent 1-0 win over Ostrava, while Mlada Boleslav had previously beaten Pribram 3-1 before falling at Plzen 3-0.
