RAS AL KHAIMAH, United Arab Emirates (Interstat) — Emirates Club defeated Dubai City 3-0 on Sunday, using a pair of first-half goals from L. Da Rocha and a second-half finish from Baha Faisal to secure the result. Da Rocha opened the scoring in the 9th minute and doubled the advantage in the 15th, giving the home side control before halftime. Faisal added Emirates Club’s third goal in the 72nd minute. Dubai City could not find a response and finished with no goals. The victory moves Emirates Club to 1-0 in the competition and 1-1 across all competitions. Dubai City falls to 0-1 in the competition and 0-1 across all competitions. Emirates Club previously lost at Al Arabi. Emirates Club controlled the second half and protected its comfortable lead throughout. Emirates Club’s defense held firm over the final stages, preserving the shutout and handing Dubai City a losing start in the competition.
