TOFTIR, Faroe Islands (Interstat) — Visiting Vikingur defeated Toftir 2-1 on Sunday as Rani Hansen and Jorgin Nielsen scored in a road victory. Hansen gave Vikingur the lead in the 21st minute, with Ingi Jonhardsson assisting. Karstin Clementsen equalized for Toftir in the 68th minute from a Latif Ahmed assist. Nielsen put Vikingur back ahead in the 75th minute, assisted by Solvi Vatnhamar. Vikingur made late changes in the 88th and 89th minutes and protected its one-goal advantage through the final whistle. The result gave Vikingur a winning start in the competition and overall, while Toftir remained without a win in either category.
