Etimesgut rolls past Tokat with five-goal road outburst

TOKAT, Turkey (Interstat) — Etimesgut delivered a dominant road performance Wednesday, defeating Tokat 5-1 in a global football match that turned on an early two-goal burst and a late scoring surge. The visitors never trailed after Efe Arigun opened the scoring in the 32nd minute, and they kept control through the final whistle despite a late response from the home side. The win gave Etimesgut a perfect start in the competition and continued its unbeaten run across all competitions.

Arigun finished with one goal while playing the full 90 minutes. Berk Bulut also played the full match and scored in the 35th minute, giving Etimesgut a 2-0 lead before halftime. Tokat found a reply through Samed Karakoc, who played the full 90 minutes and scored the home team’s only goal. That goal gave Tokat a brief lift, but it did not change the broader direction of the contest. Etimesgut’s defense absorbed Tokat’s pressure and kept the home side from building a sustained comeback.

Etimesgut added three more goals after the break. Sedat Sahinturk scored in the 83rd minute, Muhammed Durmus scored in the 90th minute, and Orkun Dedeoglu closed the scoring in the 90+4th minute. Sahinturk, Durmus and Dedeoglu each played the full 90 minutes and finished with one goal. The goals came from five different Etimesgut players, with Sahinturk, Durmus and Dedeoglu adding to the earlier strikes by Arigun and Bulut. The late goals turned a competitive margin into a one-sided final score.

The result moved Etimesgut to 1-0 in the competition and 2-0 across all competitions. Tokat dropped to 0-1 in the competition and 1-2 overall. Etimesgut had entered the match after a 1-0 competition win over Usak Belediyespor. Tokat had opened its competition schedule with a 1-0 road win at Inkilapspor before losing 3-1 at home to Galata in its previous outing.

Tokat’s attack struggled to build consistent pressure after Karakoc’s goal. The home side managed only one goal and could not match Etimesgut’s finishing in the final third. Etimesgut, meanwhile, maintained its shape and kept creating chances, especially in the closing stages. The visitors’ late goals turned a two-goal advantage into a four-goal margin and removed any suspense from the final minutes. Tokat pushed numbers forward late, but Etimesgut’s back line held firm and allowed few clear looks.

Etimesgut’s defensive effort limited Tokat for much of the match, even as the home side pushed forward in search of a comeback. Tokat’s single goal came from Karakoc, but the club could not add another despite playing at home. Etimesgut scored in the 83rd, 90th and 90+4th minutes, controlling the closing stretch and finishing its chances in front of goal. The visitors also protected their lead well in the first half, taking a 2-0 advantage into the break and forcing Tokat to chase the game.

For Tokat, the loss extended a difficult start in the competition and left the club below .500 across all competitions. The home side had hoped to build on its earlier win at Inkilapspor, but instead it was overwhelmed by Etimesgut’s five-goal attack. Etimesgut’s victory kept its competition record perfect and its overall record unbeaten. Tokat’s one goal came from Karakoc, whose full 90-minute performance ended with the club’s only breakthrough.

Etimesgut’s five goals were split among Arigun, Bulut, Sahinturk, Durmus and Dedeoglu. Each of those players completed the full match, and each finished with one goal. Karakoc was Tokat’s lone scorer. The match featured no further goals after Dedeoglu’s strike in the 90+4th minute, leaving Etimesgut with a convincing road victory and Tokat with a second loss across all competitions.

Interstat’s game simulator had projected a final score of Tokat 1, Etimesgut 1. Interstat’s ELO system had projected Tokat with a 64.8 percent probability to win. Etimesgut’s five goals and Tokat’s one goal produced a final result far different from the simulator’s pregame forecast.
