CAIRO (Interstat) — Visiting ZED defeated home side Zamalek 3-0 on Wednesday, scoring three unanswered goals to improve to 1-0 in the competition and 1-0 overall. Zamalek dropped to 0-1 in both. M. Saad scored, Marwane Hajij scored, and Moussa Mohamed scored and received a yellow card. Ahmed Atef provided two assists, and Sameh Ibrahim added one. Hajij opened the scoring in the 40th minute. Mohamed doubled the lead in the 53rd, and Saad added the third in the 55th. ZED led 1-0 at halftime before pulling away after the break. Mohamed was booked in the 56th, while ZED’s Rabia M. was booked in the 35th and Khalil R. was cautioned in the 90th. Hajij was substituted in the 73rd. Saad and Sameh Ibrahim played the full match. Zamalek made four substitutions in the 69th minute as it sought a response, but could not break through. ZED’s win came in the League Cup.
