AL SHARJAH (Interstat) — Al Sharjah beat Al Dhafra 2-1 on Thursday in a United Arab Emirates League Cup match at Sharjah Stadium in Al Sharjah. Lorran gave Al Sharjah the lead in the 20th minute. Coronado I. made it 2-0 in the 58th. Komari D. scored for Al Dhafra in the 81st after receiving a yellow card in the 75th. Al Sharjah’s Sembaij K. was booked in the fifth minute of stoppage time. Al Dhafra made five substitutions: Mohammed Z. and Marcelinho in the 46th, Mendy D. in the 62nd, El Berkaoui K. in the 69th and Serafim in the 75th. Al Sharjah made substitutions at the 74th minute with Agner and at the 87th with Doumbia C., Coronado I. and Lorran. The result left Al Dhafra 0-2 in the competition and 1-6 across all competitions. Al Sharjah improved to 1-1 in the competition and 1-1 overall. Al Sharjah next faces Al Jazira in the League Cup, while Al Dhafra meets Al Wahda in the same competition.
