ĦAMRUN, Malta (Interstat) — Ħamrun defeated host Birżebbuġa 2-0 on Friday, Sept. 11, 2026, in a Maltese Premier League match at Victor Tedesco Stadium. Matthew Guillaumier opened the scoring in the 42nd minute, and Ante Ćorić sealed the win in the 89th minute. The visitors scored once in each half. Jackson Mendonza of Birżebbuġa received a yellow card in the 22nd minute, while Ħamrun’s Ognjen Bjeličić was booked in the 52nd minute. Birżebbuġa’s Gustavo Campos was cautioned in the 88th minute. The game was organized by the Premier League in Malta. The result moved Ħamrun to two wins, two losses, and one draw this season in the competition and across all competitions. Birżebbuġa remained without a win, falling to five losses in the league and overall. Ħamrun is scheduled to host Marsaxlokk on Friday, Sept. 18. Birżebbuġa will host Valletta on Saturday, Sept. 19.
