TEGUCIGALPA (Interstat) — Olimpia defeated Independiente 4-0 on Monday, Sept. 21, 2026, in a Liga Nacional football match at Estadio José de la Paz Herrera Uclés in Honduras. Clinton Bennett opened the scoring in the 14th minute, David Flores added goals in the 30th and 43rd, and Eduard Luna completed the home rout in the 80th. Olimpia, which had lost 1-0 at Marathón on Sept. 14, improved to 5-1-2 in the competition and 5-1-2 across all competitions. Independiente, which beat Juticalpa 2-1 at home on Sept. 14, fell to 2-3-3 in the competition and 2-3-3 across all competitions. Olimpia previously beat Platense 4-1 at home on Sept. 4 and Motagua 3-1 at home on Aug. 17. Independiente earlier drew Motagua 0-0 on Sept. 6. Olimpia is scheduled to visit Policía on Saturday, Oct. 10, 2026. Independiente will visit Olancho on Monday, Oct. 12, 2026.
