GENOA (Interstat) — Genoa defeated visiting Südtirol 1-0 on Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2026, in Coppa Italia Primavera play at Stadio Comunale Luigi Ferraris. Johan Vásquez, a defender, scored the lone goal in the 87th minute, needing only 10 minutes of action to make the difference. Genoa improved to 2-0 in the competition and 2-3-1 overall. Südtirol fell to 0-1-1 in the competition and 2-1-3 overall. The match stayed scoreless until Vásquez broke through late. Südtirol had entered after a 1-1 draw with Modena and a 2-0 win over Catanzaro. Genoa had drawn 1-1 with Frosinone and lost 4-1 to Como. Südtirol’s earlier season results include a 1-1 draw at Benevento, a 1-0 win over Virtus Entella and a 2-2 draw at Catanzaro. Genoa had also lost to Lazio and Napoli and beaten Ascoli. Next, Südtirol visits Arezzo on Sunday, Sept. 20, while Genoa travels to Parma the same day. Südtirol will then host Ascoli on Oct. 10, while Genoa hosts Fiorentina on Oct. 10.
