Fl. Centre vs Aigle Noir

GITEGA, Burundi (Interstat) — Fl. Centre hosts Aigle Noir on Saturday, Aug. 22, in a Ligue A soccer match, and the statistical forecasts are split on the likely result.

Aigle Noir enters the game after beating Olympic Star 3-1 at home on Aug. 15. Fl. Centre played to a 0-0 draw at Kayanza United the same day. Those results give both teams something to build on: Aigle Noir showed scoring form, while Fl. Centre produced a clean sheet on the road.

Interstat’s game simulator projects a 1-0 Aigle Noir victory. But Interstat’s ELO system gives Fl. Centre a 63.5 percent probability to win. That gap between projections makes Saturday’s match difficult to predict and could provide an early statement for whichever side comes out on top.

Fl. Centre will have home advantage. The ELO model suggests Fl. Centre is the stronger team overall, despite the simulator’s narrow scoreline in favor of Aigle Noir. Aigle Noir, meanwhile, will try to carry forward its three-goal performance against Olympic Star and spoil Fl. Centre’s home opener of this stretch.

Both clubs face a packed schedule after Saturday.

Aigle Noir’s next 10 matches include home games against Musongati on Aug. 28, Athletico Olympic on Oct. 9, Vision on Oct. 17, Bumamuru on Oct. 30 and LLB Amasipiri on Nov. 20. Aigle Noir also travels to Vital’O on Sept. 4, Kayanza United on Sept. 14, Rukinzo on Oct. 23, Muzinga on Nov. 2 and Messager Ngozi on Nov. 28.

Fl. Centre’s next 10 fixtures feature home matches against Rukinzo on Sept. 4, Muzinga on Sept. 15, Messager Ngozi on Oct. 17 and Musongati on Oct. 30. Fl. Centre will visit Vision on Aug. 28, Bumamuru on Sept. 12, LLB Amasipiri on Oct. 9, Panthère Noir on Oct. 24, Olympic Star on Nov. 3 and Athletico Olympic on Nov. 21.

Saturday’s match gives both teams a chance to set a tone before that demanding stretch. If Interstat’s simulator is accurate, Aigle Noir will take three points on the road. If the ELO system holds, Fl. Centre will protect home territory and continue its solid start to the season.
