Coleraine, Larne play to scoreless draw in Premiership clash
COLERAINE, Northern Ireland (Interstat) — Lyndon Kane and Ronan Doherty each recorded an assist, but neither team could convert those chances as Coleraine and Larne played to a scoreless draw Friday at The Showgrounds.
Kane, a defender, and Doherty, a substitute, were the key performers in a match that saw both sides struggle to break the deadlock. The referee issued six yellow cards, starting with Aaron Donnelly in the 37th minute. Joel Cooper followed in the 50th, Aidan Wilson and Doherty were booked in the 61st, Kane in the 78th and Kevin O’Hara in the 89th.
The result leaves both teams with identical records: 0-0-1 in the Premiership and across all competitions. Coleraine entered the match after a 3-1 victory at Dungannon on Aug. 7. Larne remains winless on the season.
Both clubs will look for their first victory in their next league fixtures. Coleraine travels to Carrick on Aug. 21, while Larne hosts Limavady the same day.
