KALBA, United Arab Emirates (Interstat) — Al Wasl SC defeated Kalba SCC 3-0 on Thursday at Kalba Club Stadium in an Arabian Gulf League match. Al Wasl improved to 1-0 in the competition and across all competitions, while Kalba fell to 0-1 in both. Nicolás Giménez opened the scoring in the 22nd minute with a right-footed shot. Abdulrasaqa Popoola was shown a yellow card in the 75th minute. Renato Junior doubled the lead with a header in the 79th minute. Al Wasl entered the match after a 5-1 home victory over United on Aug. 14. Kalba played to a 2-2 draw at Al Nasr CSC on Aug. 13. Al Wasl next hosts Shabab Al Ahli Dubai FC on Aug. 27, then plays KhorFakkan S&CC on Sept. 3 and visits Al Ain FC on Sept. 9. Kalba next visits United on Aug. 27, hosts Al Ain FC on Sept. 3 and travels to Ajman on Sept. 10.
