PAOLA, Malta (Interstat) — Zach Muscat scored in the 88th minute to give Birkirkara a 1-0 victory over Ħamrun on Friday, Aug. 21, 2026, at Tony Bezzina Stadium. The match was scoreless until Muscat’s strike, which lifted Birkirkara to its second consecutive win in the Maltese Premier League and in all competitions. Birkirkara improved to 2-0, while Ħamrun fell to 0-2. Birkirkara opened its season with a 4-0 home victory over Gżira on Aug. 16, and Ħamrun lost 2-0 at home to Mosta that same day. Birkirkara next hosts Mosta on Aug. 28 and then visits Mosta on Aug. 29. Ħamrun will host Floriana on Aug. 28.
