QAZVIN, Iran (Interstat) — Mahdi Mahdavi scored in the 31st minute and Milad Soorgi added a goal in first-half stoppage time as Aluminium Arak FC and Shams Azar Qazvin FC played to a 2-2 draw Saturday in a Persian Gulf Pro League match at Sardare Azadegan Stadium.

Aluminium Arak, the visiting team, took a 2-0 lead with goals from Mahdavi and Soorgi, but Shams Azar rallied to level the score by the end of the match. The draw leaves Aluminium Arak with a 0-0-2 record in the competition and across all competitions. Shams Azar now has a 0-0-1 record in the league and overall.

The result came after Aluminium Arak drew 0-0 with Chadormalu Ardakan FC on Aug. 17 and beat Esteghlal Meli-Sanati Khuzestan FC 2-0 on Aug. 13. Shams Azar drew 1-1 with Foolad Khuzestan FC on Aug. 18 and lost 2-0 to Persepolis FC on Aug. 14.

Both teams return to action Thursday, with Aluminium Arak hosting FC Kheybar Khorramabad and Shams Azar visiting Nassaji Maz.
