SV DVS '33 vs Rijnvogels
AMSTERDAM (Interstat) — SV DVS ’33 will look to avenge a narrow defeat when it hosts Rijnvogels on Saturday in a Derde Divisie matchup at Sportpark DVS in Ermelo.
The game, set for May 30, 2026, pits two sides jockeying for position in the Dutch fourth-tier league. DVS enters having lost 1-0 to Rijnvogels just three days earlier, on Wednesday, May 27, in the teams’ most recent head-to-head meeting. That result snapped a three-match unbeaten streak for DVS, which had beaten Huizen 1-0 on May 23 and won 3-2 at Eemdijk on May 16.
Rijnvogels, meanwhile, arrives with mixed form. The visitors suffered a 3-0 home loss to VV Sint Bavo on May 23, their second defeat in three games. Prior to that, Rijnvogels drew 1-1 at Meerssen on May 16 and lost a penalty shootout 3-2 to VVSB on May 12 after a 2-2 draw in regulation. The team had won three of its previous four matches, including a 3-0 victory over UDI ’19 on May 9 and a 4-1 thrashing of Lisse on April 25.
DVS has shown resilience at home. The club earned a 2-2 draw against SV Urk on March 21, then won 1-0 over SV TEC on March 7 and 3-2 against USV Hercules on February 21. Their only home loss in recent weeks came against Staphorst, 4-1, on March 14.
Rijnvogels has struggled on the road, with two consecutive away draws before the loss to Sint Bavo. The team recorded a 0-0 stalemate at Blauw Geel ’38 on April 18 and a 2-2 draw at ASWH on April 11. Their last away win came on April 25 at Lisse.
Saturday’s contest will be the third meeting between the sides this season. The first — also a Wednesday affair — ended in the 1-0 Rijnvogels victory. The simulator from Interstat projects a 2-1 win for DVS.
Kickoff is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. local time.
