Gutersloh vs Moers

GUTERSLOH, Germany (Interstat) — Gutersloh hosts Moers on Monday, May 25, in a Regionalliga matchup that pits a middling home side against a visitor mired in a lengthy losing streak.

Interstat’s game simulator projects a 3-1 victory for Gutersloh.

Moers (2W-1D-13L overall) enters the contest on a seven-match losing streak dating to Oct. 26, when it drew 2-2 at home against SSV Rhade. Since that draw, Moers has been outscored 19-0 across seven consecutive defeats. The struggles persisted Sunday, May 17, when Fortuna Koln posted a 3-0 victory at Moers.

Offensive production has been a particular concern. Moers has been shut out in nine of its last 10 matches, the lone goal coming Oct. 5 in a 4-1 loss at Deutz. Among the losses in that stretch, Bayer Leverkusen handed Moers a 7-0 defeat Dec. 7, and SSV Rhade won 4-0 at home against Moers on May 10.

Defensively, the team has allowed three or more goals in four of the last five losses.

Gutersloh (4W-7D-5L) has shown more resilience despite an inconsistent season. The club lost 3-1 at Borussia Dortmund on Sunday, May 17, but had earned a 2-2 draw against Borussia Mönchengladbach II on May 3. Prior to that, Gutersloh fell 1-0 at home to 1. FFC Recklinghausen on May 10.

The home side has found modest scoring success. Gutersloh secured a 2-1 win at Lippstadt 08 on March 2 and a 3-0 victory against Bad Westernkotten on Sept. 3. However, Gutersloh has been held scoreless in five of its 16 matches this season, most recently in the loss to Recklinghausen and a 0-0 draw at SSV Rhade on Dec. 7.

Gutersloh’s results have been largely decided by a single goal, with six of its nine losses or draws coming by a one-goal margin.

Kickoff is scheduled for Monday evening at Gutersloh’s home venue.
