Diyala FC vs Duhok
BAQUBAH, Iraq (Interstat) — Diyala FC hosts Duhok on Monday in an Iraqi League matchup that carries significant implications for both clubs as the season winds down.
The game, scheduled for June 1, 2026, pits a Diyala side trying to snap a two-match losing streak against a Duhok team that has shown mixed form but remains dangerous.
Diyala FC (1-0 loss to Al Karma SC on May 27) has lost three of its last four matches. Before that defeat, Diyala fell 2-0 to Al Shorta SC on May 15. The bright spot came May 11, when Diyala edged Zakho 2-1 away. However, a 4-1 home loss to Mosul SC on April 26 underscored defensive vulnerabilities. Diyala’s season-long record includes wins against Naft, Al Karkh, Naft Maysan and Al Qassim, but the club has struggled against top-tier opponents.
Duhok arrives after a 2-1 loss to Al Kahrabaa SC on May 27, its third defeat in four outings. Prior to that, Duhok played to a 3-3 draw at Mosul SC on May 15, and beat Al Qassim SC 2-1 on May 10 and Naft Maysan 2-1 on May 5. Duhok’s season has been erratic: wins against Al Talaba and Al Qassim, but losses to Al Quwa Al Jawiya, Amanat Baghdad, Al Karma, Zakho and Erbil.
Wednesday’s defeats left both teams in the middle of the league table, each seeking consistency. Diyala has shown flashes of offensive capability, scoring four goals in a March 31 win over Al Qassim, but has been shut out in four of its last six. Duhok’s attack has been slightly more reliable, netting in six of its last seven matches.
Interstat’s game simulator projects a 1-1 draw Monday. That result would do little to improve either side’s standing but reflects the relative balance between two clubs that have split their recent encounters. The match is scheduled for a 7 p.m. local kickoff at Diyala Stadium.
