NETANYA, Israel (Interstat) — Eylon Yerushalmi scored in the 33rd minute to give Maccabi Herzliya a 1-0 lead, but Amit Arazi answered with an equalizer in the 40th minute as the teams played to a 1-1 draw Wednesday at Winner Stadium in the Liga Leumit opener for both clubs. The result gave each side a 0-0-1 record in league competition. Across all competitions this season, Maccabi Herzliya holds a record of 21 wins, 10 losses and 10 draws, while Hapoel Kfar Saba has a record of 15 wins, 16 losses and 10 draws. The draw was the second time the clubs have split points this season, following a 2-2 tie on Oct. 12, 2025. Maccabi Herzliya won their other meeting, 2-1 on Feb. 16. Yerushalmi’s goal came from a close-range finish, while Arazi’s equalizer was a header off a corner. Neither team managed a goal in the second half as defenses tightened. The game was the first league match of the season for both sides. Both teams will look to build on the point in upcoming fixtures.
