Wolfsburg, Paderborn Play to Scoreless Draw in Bundesliga Opener
WOLFSBURG, Germany (Interstat) — Wolfsburg and SC Paderborn 07 played to a scoreless draw Thursday in both teams’ Bundesliga opener at Volkswagen Arena. Neither side could find the net in a match that saw a flurry of late bookings. Each team finished with a draw in the competition and across all competitions, leaving their records at zero wins, zero losses and one draw. The match featured four yellow cards and one red card. Ruben Müller, a substitute, was cautioned in the ninth minute. Santiago Castaneda, also a substitute, received a yellow in the 82nd minute. Lovro Majer, a midfielder, was booked in the 87th. Jonah Sticker, another substitute, was cautioned in second-half stoppage time and then received a red card in the 94th minute. Despite the lack of goals, each of those four players recorded an assist. Sticker’s red card proved the most significant discipline.
