Bashundhra Kings vs Mohammedan Dhaka

DHAKA, Bangladesh (Interstat) — Bashundhara Kings will host Mohammedan Dhaka on Wednesday, May 20, in a Federation Cup clash at an undetermined venue, with the home side riding a wave of dominance over their traditional rivals.

The Kings enter the match after a 2-0 victory at Abahani on May 15, extending their winning streak in all competitions to three matches. Bashundhara has lost only once in its last 10 outings — a 1-1 draw against Bangladesh Police on May 8 — and owns the league’s most potent attack, having scored 22 goals in its previous six wins.

Mohammedan Dhaka, meanwhile, stumbled 1-0 at Rahmatgonj MFS on May 15, a result that snapped a three-match winning run. The visitors had posted victories over Brothers Union (2-1 on May 12), Arambagh (2-0 on May 9) and Rahmatgonj (3-0 on May 5) before that setback.

The recent head-to-head record heavily favors Bashundhara. The Kings won 2-1 at Mohammedan on April 30, a result that followed a 0-0 draw on Dec. 23, 2025, and a 2-0 home victory on Dec. 12, 2025. In the past four meetings, Mohammedan has scored only once.

Bashundhara’s form extends beyond the rivalry. Since a 2-1 loss to Abahani on April 10, the Kings have gone unbeaten in five matches, with wins over Brothers Union (4-0 on May 5), Bangladesh Police (4-1 on April 21) and Arambagh KS (5-0 on April 7), plus a 1-0 win at Brothers on April 25.

Mohammedan’s season has been more inconsistent. After a 4-0 thrashing of Arambagh KS on April 21, the team lost 2-1 to Abahani on April 10 and drew 1-1 with Bangladesh Police on March 13. The visitors have also struggled against the Kings in Dhaka, managing only one goal in their last three trips.

Interstat’s game simulator projects a 2-0 victory for Bashundhara Kings, a result that would further cement their status as the team to beat in the Federation Cup. Kickoff is scheduled for 5 p.m. local time.

The match marks the latest chapter in a rivalry that has tilted decisively toward the Kings, who are aiming for a fourth consecutive win over Mohammedan in all competitions. For Mohammedan, a victory Wednesday would be a major statement after a season of flashes but no sustained consistency.
