PALMA DE MALLORCA (Interstat) — Mallorca opened its La Liga season with a dominant 3-0 victory over Real Oviedo on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at Estadi Mallorca Son Moix.

The home side wasted little time establishing control. Pablo Torre broke the deadlock in the 42nd minute, finishing a well-worked move to put Mallorca ahead just before halftime. Real Oviedo, playing its first match of the campaign, struggled to generate any meaningful attacking threat.

Mallorca doubled its lead in the 83rd minute when Manu Morlanes found the net after a sequence of passes that carved open the visiting defense. The goal effectively sealed the outcome, but Vedat Muriqi added a third in the 88th minute to complete the rout.

Real Oviedo’s frustration was reflected in the disciplinary record. Midfielder Santi Cazorla picked up a yellow card in the 38th minute for a late challenge. Mallorca’s Manu Morlanes was cautioned in the 48th minute, and Samu Costa received a booking in the 58th minute.

The match marked the first competitive fixture of the season for both clubs. Mallorca now holds a record of one win and no losses in league play and across all competitions. Real Oviedo stands at zero wins and one loss in both categories.

Despite the lopsided scoreline, pregame projections suggested a much closer contest. Interstat’s game simulator had projected a final score of 1-1. Interstat’s ELO system gave Mallorca a 77.90 percent probability to win.
