Udinese vs US Cremonese

SERIE A PREVIEW: UDINESE VS. US CREMONESE

MILAN (Interstat) — Udinese hosts US Cremonese on Sunday, May 17, 2026, in a Serie A clash with the home side heavily favored in a match that could have implications for both ends of the table.

Interstat’s game simulator projects a 3-1 victory for Udinese, and the ELO system gives the hosts an 86.5 percent probability of winning.

The teams played to a 1-1 draw most recently on Oct. 20, 2025, in Cremona.

Udinese (2-0 winners at Cagliari on Saturday, May 9) enters on strong recent form. In their previous five matches, the Friulani are 3-1-1, including a 3-0 demolition of AC Milan on April 11 and a 2-0 win over Torino on May 2. Their only loss in that span was a 1-0 defeat at Parma on April 18.

US Cremonese is coming off a 3-0 home victory over Pisa on May 10, snapping a two-match losing streak. Prior to that, Cremonese had lost 2-1 at home to Lazio on May 4 and 4-0 at Napoli on April 24. The victory over Pisa was Cremonese’s third win in its last six outings (3-3-0 in that stretch).

PLAYER TO WATCH

Midfielder Alberto Grassi is a key figure for US Cremonese, though he was substituted out in the win over Pisa and logged minimal minutes in that match, per the official match report. His role in the midfield will be critical against a Udinese side that has been efficient in attack, scoring at least two goals in four of its last seven matches.

RECENT FORM

Udinese has been particularly strong at home. After a 0-0 draw with Napoli on April 6, they have posted consecutive shutout wins (3-0 vs. AC Milan, 2-0 vs. Torino, 2-0 at Cagliari). Goalkeeper Maduka Okoye has been stellar.

Cremonese, conversely, has been inconsistent on the road. While they defeated Torino 1-0 on April 19, they were routed at Napoli and lost 1-0 at Cagliari on April 11. Three of their last six wins have come by a single goal.

HEAD-TO-HEAD

The last four meetings across all competitions have produced two draws and two Udinese wins. Sunday’s match is the second this season between the sides.

Kickoff is scheduled for 3 p.m. local time at Stadio Friuli in Udine.
