Inter Milan vs Verona
MILAN (Interstat) — Serie A leader Inter Milan hosts Hellas Verona on Sunday, May 17, with the home team heavily favored by statistical projections.
Interstat’s game simulator projects a 5-1 Inter victory, and its ELO rating system gives Inter a 98.50 percent probability of winning.
Inter enters the match on strong form. The Nerazzurri defeated Lazio 2-0 on Wednesday, May 13, and blanked Lazio 3-0 on Saturday, May 9. Inter has won four of its last five matches, with the only blemish a 2-2 draw at Torino on April 26. Over the past month, Inter has scored 12 goals in five games while allowing five. The attack has been potent, with wins over Parma (2-0 on May 3) and Como (4-3 on April 12).
Verona arrives having lost four of its last six matches. The Gialloblu fell 1-0 at home to Como on Sunday, May 10. In that game, substitutes Mërgim Vojvoda, Nicolás Paz and Máximo Perrone each entered in the 90th minute but could not spark a rally.
Verona forward Kieron Bowie is a player to watch. Bowie started against Como but was substituted out, recording no goals or assists in limited minutes.
Verona’s form has been inconsistent. The team drew 1-1 at Juventus on May 3 and beat Lecce 1-0 on April 25. But losses to Fiorentina (1-0 on April 4), Monza (1-0 on March 27) and Atalanta (1-0 on March 22) highlight a struggle to generate offense.
The teams last met on Nov. 2, 2025, when Inter defeated Verona 2-1.
Inter has been dominant at home. The Nerazzurri defeated Cagliari 3-0 on April 17 and routed Roma 5-2 on April 5. Torino handed Inter a 3-0 loss on April 18, but that result remains an outlier.
Verona will need to contain Inter’s high-pressure attack. The visitors have not won in four away matches, with their last road victory coming at Lecce on April 25.
Sunday’s match kicks off at San Siro with Inter seeking to extend its lead atop the Serie A table.
