Muharraq vs A'ali CSC
MANAMA, Bahrain (Interstat) — A first-place showdown in the Bahrain Premier League takes center stage Saturday when league-leading Muharraq hosts A’ali CSC at the national stadium.
Muharraq enters the match with a 3-1-1 record over its last five outings, though the club is coming off a 1-0 loss at Busaiteen on May 8 — its first defeat in six matches. Before that setback, Muharraq had rattled off four straight wins, including a 3-1 victory at Al Najma and a 1-0 decision over Al Hidd. The team’s offense has been potent: a 7-0 demolition of Bahrain SC on Feb. 20 and a 6-0 win against Isa Town on Feb. 2 highlighted the season.
A’ali CSC, meanwhile, has struggled for consistency. The visitors are 2-3-0 in their last five, most recently a 1-0 win at Al Hidd on May 4. That result ended a two-game losing streak, with losses to Sitra and Al Riffa. A’ali’s defense has held firm at times — three clean sheets in its last six — but the attack has managed only one goal in the past three matches.
The two sides met Jan. 10 in Muharraq’s home leg and played to a 1-1 draw. That result fits a pattern of tight encounters; neither team has scored more than once in their last three meetings.
The Interstat game simulator projects a 1-0 victory for Muharraq, a reflection of the home side’s depth and recent form. Muharraq has not lost at home since early February and carries a plus-22 goal differential across all competitions.
A’ali CSC will need a sharp defensive performance to contain a Muharraq attack that averages nearly three goals per game. The visitors’ best hope may be a low-scoring affair, similar to the 1-1 draw earlier this season.
Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. local time.
