KFC Uerdingen 05 vs Kleve
KREFELD, Germany (Interstat) — KFC Uerdingen 05 will look to avenge a narrow defeat when they host Kleve on Sunday, May 17, in an Oberliga Niederrhein match at the Grotenburg Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 3 p.m. local time.
The two sides last met Nov. 28, 2025, when Kleve claimed a 1-0 victory on their home pitch. That result extended Kleve’s recent dominance in the series, though the overall record remains close. Uerdingen’s defense, which has conceded just one goal in its last three league matches, will be tested by a Kleve side that scored five times in its most recent outing.
Kleve (7-5-11 entering the week) enters on a high after a 5-2 win over SV Biemenhorst on May 3. The victory snapped a three-match losing streak and showcased the team’s attacking potential. However, Kleve’s form on the road has been inconsistent; they have lost five of their last seven away fixtures in league play.
Forward scoring depth remains a question for Kleve. In the 10 games prior to the Biemenhorst win, they managed just six goals total, including three shutout losses. The club’s best performance away from home this season came in a 2-0 win at FC Buderich on Dec. 3.
Uerdingen (10-5-8) heads into the weekend with momentum after a 3-1 victory over B-W Dingden on May 2. That result extended the home side’s unbeaten run to four matches, with three wins and a draw. Uerdingen’s defense has been particularly stingy at home, allowing only two goals in their last four matches at Grotenburg.
The team’s recent form has been built on disciplined defending and timely finishing. In their last six games, Uerdingen has outscored opponents 10-5, with wins over Monheim, DJK Adler Union Essen-Frintrop, and VfB Homberg. The only blemish in that stretch was a 3-2 loss at Holzheimer SG on March 28.
Interstat’s game simulator projects a tight contest, forecasting a 1-0 victory for Uerdingen. The model suggests the home side’s defensive solidity and recent form will be enough to edge Kleve in a low-scoring affair.
Both teams are competing for mid-table positioning in the Oberliga Niederrhein. A win for Uerdingen could lift them into the top half of the table, while Kleve aims to build on its recent offensive breakout.
Kleve will be without injured midfielder Lukas Stein, who remains sidelined with a hamstring strain. Uerdingen reports no new injuries and is expected to field a full-strength lineup.
Sunday’s match will be the second of two meetings this season. Uerdingen is seeking its first win over Kleve since April 2024.
