DJK Adler Union Essen-Frintrop vs Hilden

FRIDAY, MAY 15, 2026 – OBERLIGA PREVIEW

ESSEN, Germany (Interstat) — Hilden visits DJK Adler Union Essen-Frintrop on Friday at 7 p.m. local time in an Oberliga Niederrhein match that could tighten the race for promotion.

Hilden enters the game riding a nine-match unbeaten streak, having not lost since a 1-0 defeat at Schonnebeck on Feb. 22. Since then, the visitors have rattled off wins against Meerbusch, Vikt Juchen-Garz, SF Baumberg, Sonsbeck, SV Biemenhorst and FC Buderich before defeating VfB Homberg 5-3 on May 3.

That scoring burst is typical of a Hilden side that has averaged 3.2 goals per game over its last six outings. Midfield creativity and a high press have been key, with the team outscoring opponents 31-7 during its unbeaten run.

The home side, DJK Adler Union Essen-Frintrop, will try to snap a two-match losing skid. After a 4-2 win over St Tonis 11/20 on May 3, they lost 1-0 at VfB Homberg on April 19 and fell 1-0 at home to S-W Essen on April 12. Those defeats came after a stretch of three wins in four matches, including a 3-2 result against FC Buderich and a 2-1 win at SV Biemenhorst.

The head-to-head history favors Hilden, though narrowly. In the most recent meeting, on Nov. 30, 2025, DJK Adler Union won 2-1 on the road. Before that, the teams had not met in recorded data during this season.

Hilden’s form on paper is superior: they have won all three road matches in the current unbeaten streak, scoring 14 goals and conceding just two. DJK Adler Union, meanwhile, has lost three of its last four home matches, with the lone win coming against St Tonis 11/20.

Interstat’s game simulator projects a 3-1 victory for Hilden, and its ELO system gives Hilden a 70.80 percent probability to win. DJK Adler Union will need a disciplined defensive performance and better finishing to upset the odds.

Kickoff is at 7 p.m. at the Sportplatz an der Wackenbergstraße. Both sides expect near-full attendance for what could be a decisive fixture in the second half of the Oberliga campaign.
