BREMEN (Interstat) — Larissa Mühlhaus scored three goals Sunday as Werder Bremen W routed Carl Zeiss Jena 7-0 in a Frauen Bundesliga match at Weserstadion - Platz 11. The forward opened the scoring in the second minute and added goals in the 22nd and 90th-plus-seventh minute for a hat trick. Lina Hausicke scored in the eighth minute, Lara Schmidt in the 41st, Maja Sternad in the 50th and Sarah Ernst in the 74th. Stefanie Schmid had an assist. Carl Zeiss Jena’s Stefanie Schmid received a yellow card in the 57th minute. Werder Bremen W led 4-0 at halftime. The victory was Werder Bremen’s second this season against Carl Zeiss Jena after a 1-0 win Dec. 6. Werder Bremen improved to 8-7-4 in league play and 8-8-4 overall. Carl Zeiss Jena fell to 2-17-4 in the league and 2-18-4 overall. Mühlhaus was named the top star. Werder Bremen W had not won in its previous five matches across all competitions. Carl Zeiss Jena lost four of its last five. Both teams play again Sunday; Werder Bremen W visits Bayer Leverkusen W and Carl Zeiss Jena hosts Koeln W.
