CS Bretigny Football vs Caen
BRETIGNY-SUR-ORGE, France (Interstat) — CS Bretigny Football will host Caen in a National 3 matchup Saturday, a game overshadowed by the visitors’ demanding double-header weekend.
Caen, which also plays a National 1 match later Saturday against Concarneau, brings a dominant recent record against the home side. The teams last met Jan. 17, with Caen winning 3-1 at CS Bretigny.
The visitors enter on a 10-match unbeaten streak across all competitions dating to March 21. Caen has posted six clean sheets in its last seven outings, including a 1-0 win at SU Dives-Cabourg on April 25 and a 3-0 victory at VF Beaujolais on April 24. The side’s only blemish in that stretch is a 1-1 draw at AS Trouville-Deauville-Villers on April 18.
CS Bretigny (1-3-1 in its last five) is coming off a 1-1 draw with Havre Caucriauville Sportif on May 2. The home side’s lone win during that span was a 2-1 result at RC France Football on April 25. Prior to that, CS Bretigny had lost four of five, including a 1-0 defeat at Sainte-Genevieve Sports on April 11.
Interstat’s game simulator projects a 1-1 draw.
The match takes on added significance for Caen, which faces a quick turnaround: Saturday’s National 3 game precedes its National 1 fixture against Concarneau later that evening. Caen then travels to Aubagne on May 15.
Kickoff is scheduled for 3 p.m. local time.
