CMS Oissel vs Sainte-Genevieve Sports

CMS Oissel hosts Sainte-Genevieve Sports in National 3 clash Saturday

ROUEN, France (Interstat) — CMS Oissel will look to reverse a lopsided head-to-head trend when it hosts Sainte-Genevieve Sports on Saturday in a National 3 match at Stade de la Source.

The two sides met Jan. 17, when Sainte-Genevieve romped to a 4-0 home victory. Oissel has lost four of its past five meetings overall with Sainte-Genevieve, but the home side enters with points in four of its last five league matches.

Oissel (record not provided) is coming off a 2-2 draw at Havre Caucriauville Sportif on April 25. The result extended a modest unbeaten run that includes a 1-1 home draw with AS Saint-Ouen-l’Aumone on April 18 and a 1-0 win over FCM Aubervilliers on March 28. Oissel also posted a 2-1 win over SC Bastia 2 on March 7 and a 1-0 victory at Caen on Feb. 7.

However, consistency has been elusive. Oissel fell 3-1 at FC Versailles 78 2 on April 11 and lost 5-1 at home to ESA Linas-Montlhery on March 14. The team’s defense has been solid in recent weeks, with three clean sheets in its past six outings.

Sainte-Genevieve (record not provided) surged back into form with a 3-0 win at ESA Linas-Montlhery on April 25, snapping a four-match losing streak. That run included a 3-2 loss at SU Dives-Cabourg on March 28, a 2-1 loss to Caen 2 on March 21, a 2-0 loss at RC France Football on March 14, and a 4-1 defeat at C Chartres U19 on March 7.

Before that slide, Sainte-Genevieve had alternated wins and losses. The team posted a 1-0 victory at CS Bretigny Football on April 11 and a 1-0 win at AS Trouville-Deauville-Villers on April 4. Overall, Sainte-Genevieve has struggled on the road this season, with only two wins in its last 10 away matches.

The matchup pits Oissel’s resurgent defense against a Sainte-Genevieve attack that has scored multiple goals only twice in its last 10 outings. The visitors’ 4-0 thrashing of Oissel in January remains their largest margin of victory this campaign.

Interstat’s game simulator projects a 1-1 draw.

Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. local time.
