Sonderjyske edges Viborg FF 1‑0 in Danish 1. Division clash
VIBORG, Denmark (Interstat) — Sefer Emini scored in the 49th minute as Sonderjyske defeated Viborg FF 1-0 on Friday at Energi Viborg Arena in a 1. Division match.
Emini, a second-half substitute, netted the lone goal. Alexander Lyng, also off the bench, provided the assist and received a yellow card in the 76th minute.
Sonderjyske improved to 4-4-2 in the competition and 16-13-9 overall. Viborg fell to 6-3-3 in league play and 6-3-7 across all competitions.
The victory avenged Sonderjyske’s 2-0 loss at Viborg on April 12. The result also snapped a two-match losing streak for the visitors, who had dropped decisions to ASA Aarhus and Midtjylland W prior to Friday.
Viborg, playing at home, could not generate an equalizer despite holding a stronger league record entering the contest. The defeat marked Viborg’s third loss in its last four outings across all competitions.
