SÉTIF, Algeria (Interstat) — Merouane Zerrouki scored in the 44th minute, guiding ES Setif to a 1-0 victory over MC Alger on Wednesday at Stade du 8 Mai 1945 in a Ligue 1 match.

Zerrouki’s right-footed strike proved the difference in a tightly contested affair. The home side improved to 1-0 in league play and across all competitions, while MC Alger dropped to 0-1 in both.

The match saw four yellow cards. Alhassane Bangoura was booked in the 53rd minute, followed by Zerrouki in the 70th. Ibrahim Bekakchi received a caution in the 77th minute, and Zakaria Saidi was shown one in third-minute stoppage time.
