BAGHDAD (Interstat) — Al Gharaf SC will host Al Karkh SC on Friday, May 15, 2026, in an Iraqi League matchup that carries echoes of their last meeting, a 1-0 Al Karkh victory on Dec. 22, 2025.

Al Karkh enters with momentum after a 2-1 win at Amanat Bagdad on Monday, May 11. That result extended a mixed run: Al Karkh also defeated Zakho 3-1 on May 6 and topped Al Kahrabaa 3-1 on April 27, but lost 1-0 at Erbil on May 2 and fell 3-0 at Al Zawra’a on April 18. Overall, Al Karkh has three wins, two draws and three losses in its last eight league outings.

Al Gharaf, playing at home, is coming off a 1-1 draw at Mosul on May 2. That result followed a 1-1 tie at Duhok on April 23 and a 5-1 thrashing of Al Qassim on April 14. However, Al Gharaf suffered a 3-1 loss to Al Talaba on April 18 and a 1-0 defeat at Naft on April 9. The home side’s form shows inconsistency: two wins, two draws and four losses in its last eight matches.

Friday’s game is the second meeting between the sides this season. Al Karkh won the previous encounter, 1-0, on Dec. 22.
