CAIRO (Interstat) — Pyramids and Smouha SC will meet Wednesday in an Egyptian Premier League matchup at Pyramids’ home ground, with both teams looking to rebound from recent setbacks.

The game, scheduled for May 20, 2026, comes after a stretch of mixed results. Pyramids (10-4-1 in their last 15 league matches) enter on a three-game unbeaten run, most recently a 2-1 victory at ZED on May 10. Before that, they drew 1-1 at Ceramica Cleopatra on May 5, and in between, they defeated ENPPI 3-2 on May 1.

Smouha SC (6-6-3 over the same span) lost 1-0 at home to Zamalek SC on May 5, snapping a two-match winning streak. Prior to that defeat, Smouha had beaten Modern SC 3-0 on March 7 and National Bank of Egypt 3-1 on March 1.

The teams last met Feb. 4, when Smouha won 2-1 at Pyramids. That result was part of a difficult stretch for Pyramids, who lost three of four matches in late February and early March, including a 1-0 defeat to Zamalek on March 1 and a 1-0 loss to the same side on April 23. Smouha, meanwhile, struggled through a six-match winless run between Feb. 8 and April 27, losing five of those games, including a 1-0 defeat to El Ahly on Feb. 23 and a 1-0 loss to El Masry on April 27.

Pyramids have been strong at home this season, with only one loss in their last eight league matches at their own stadium. They have also shown offensive firepower, scoring three or more goals in four of their last nine games, including a 4-0 thrashing of ENPPI on April 3 and a 3-0 win over El Ahly on April 27.

Smouha have struggled on the road, posting just two wins in their last six away matches. Their defense has been inconsistent, conceding at least one goal in four of their last five games, though they did keep clean sheets against Modern SC and Pharco in January and March.

Interstat’s game simulator projects a 1-1 draw, reflecting the closely matched nature of the two sides. Pyramids sit third in the league standings with 42 points from 21 matches, while Smouha are eighth with 31 points from 20 games.
