For release: Thursday, May 7, 2026
REGENSBURG, Germany (Interstat) — ATSV Erlangen will try to snap a two-match losing streak when it visits Jahn Regensburg II on Friday in an Oberliga matchup at the Continental Arena.
Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. local time.
Jahn Regensburg II (7-7-8) enters the match after a 2-1 defeat at Bayern Hof on May 2. The reserve side has shown offensive firepower in recent weeks, scoring four goals in each of two victories — a 4-3 win at Neudrossenfeld on April 24 and a 4-1 triumph at FSV Stadeln 1958 on April 11. In between, Regensburg II edged Erzgebirge Aue II 1-0 on April 7.
However, consistency has eluded the hosts. Since a 4-0 home win over Ingolstadt II on March 14, Regensburg II has lost four of its past six matches, including a 1-0 defeat to Weiden and a 3-0 loss to FC Eintracht Bamberg 2010.
ATSV Erlangen (6-8-9) fell 1-0 at FSV Stadeln 1958 on April 25, its second consecutive defeat after a 4-2 home loss to Cham on April 21. The visitors have struggled for goals, scoring just two in their last four games and managing only one win in their past five — a 2-1 home victory over Grossschwarzenlohe on April 17.
Erlangen has been particularly poor on the road, posting a 2-5-4 away record this season. The club has also shown an inability to hold leads, having lost four matches in which it scored first, according to league statistics.
In the most recent head-to-head meeting Oct. 24, 2025, Erlangen defeated Regensburg II 2-1 at home. The result extended Erlangen’s unbeaten run against its Bavarian rival to three matches, though Regensburg II has taken points in three of the past five meetings between the sides.
Interstat’s game simulator projects a 2-1 win for Jahn Regensburg II, a prediction that aligns with the hosts’ slightly stronger offensive metrics. Regensburg II averages 1.5 goals per match at home, compared to Erlangen’s 0.8 goals per match on the road.
Defensively, both clubs have shown vulnerabilities. Regensburg II has conceded in seven of its past nine matches, while Erlangen has allowed multiple goals in four of its last six away contests.
The Oberliga is the fifth tier of German football, part of the Bavarian Football Association’s regional league system. Friday’s match will be played before an expected crowd of about 2,000 at the 5,200-seat venue.
