Turk Neckarsulm vs VfR Aalen

NECKARSULM, Germany (Interstat) — Turk Neckarsulm hosts VfR Aalen on Saturday in an Oberliga match that could have significant implications for both sides.

Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. local time at the Pichterichstadion.

VfR Aalen enters the contest on a strong run, unbeaten in its last eight matches. The visitors most recently drew 2-2 at home against FC 08 Villingen on May 2. That result followed a 1-0 win at SSV Reutlingen 05, a 2-0 victory at Denzlingen and a 3-0 home triumph over Turkischer Singen. Aalen’s only blemish in that stretch was a 3-2 loss at Essingen on March 21.

Turk Neckarsulm, meanwhile, is coming off a 4-1 victory at Goppinger SV on May 1, snapping a two-match losing streak. Prior to that win, Neckarsulm had dropped back-to-back decisions: a 3-2 home loss to Normannia Gmund and a 4-1 defeat at FC Nöttingen. The home side has been inconsistent, with a 3-0 win over FC 08 Villingen on Feb. 21 and a 0-0 draw at CfR Pforzheim on March 7, but also losses to Backnang, Oberachern and Ravensburg.

The Interstat game simulator projects a 2-1 victory for VfR Aalen.

Aalen’s recent defensive solidity — allowing two goals in its last five matches — will be tested by a Neckarsulm attack that scored four goals in its last outing. VfR Aalen has outscored opponents 13-6 over its eight-match unbeaten run.

Neckarsulm will look to build on its offensive outburst at Goppingen, but has struggled to string together consistent performances. The home side has not won consecutive matches since late February.

Saturday’s fixture marks the second meeting between the clubs this season. VfR Aalen won the first encounter 3-0 on Oct. 4, 2025, at home.

Both teams are in the middle of the Oberliga table, with Aalen slightly ahead. A win for the visitors would strengthen their push toward the top half, while Neckarsulm needs points to avoid being pulled into the relegation conversation.
