NENTERSHAUSEN, Germany (Interstat) — Eisbachtaler Sportfreunde and R-W Koblenz will meet Saturday, May 9, in an Oberliga matchup at Eisbachtal Stadium.

R-W Koblenz enters the game after a 2-1 home victory over FV Engers 07 on May 2. That result extended a strong run for the visitors, who have lost only once in their past 10 league matches. Their form includes a 6-0 win over Auersmacher on March 28, a 4-0 victory over Gonsenheim on April 4 and a 2-2 draw at Mechtersheim on May 1. The lone loss in that stretch came March 21, a 2-1 defeat at SC 07 Idar-Oberstein.

Eisbachtaler Sportfreunde last played April 18, a 2-1 home loss to TuS Koblenz. That result snapped a three-match winning streak for the home side. Before that defeat, Eisbachtaler had beaten Hertha Wiesbach 1-0 on March 14, Gau-Odernheim 3-0 on March 8 and Auersmacher 3-1 on Feb. 28. Their only other recent fixture was a 3-0 loss at Dudenhofen on March 21.

The Oberliga is the fifth tier of German football, and both clubs are competing in the Rheinland-Pfalz/Saar division. R-W Koblenz sits higher in the table, powered by a prolific offense that has scored at least two goals in nine of their last 12 matches. Eisbachtaler has been more inconsistent, but their defense has tightened since the start of March.

Interstat’s game simulator projects a 1-1 draw.

Kickoff is set for 3 p.m. local time.
