Eiche Horn vs Sebaldsbrueck

BREMEN, Germany (Interstat) — Eiche Horn hosts Sebaldsbrueck on Thursday, May 7 in an Oberliga match that will pit two inconsistent sides against each other. Kickoff is 7 p.m. local time.

Eiche Horn enters the fixture on a four-match losing streak after falling 1-0 at Hemelingen on Sunday, May 3. That result extended the home side’s slide after it had lost 1-0 to Aumund-Vegesack on April 26 and 4-1 at ESC Geestemunde on April 15. Prior to that run, Eiche Horn had won three of four, including a 5-1 thrashing of Werder Bremen III on April 12 and a 3-2 victory at Brinkumer SV on April 1.

Overall, Eiche Horn has posted a mixed record this season. Wins such as a 4-1 defeat of OSC Bremerhaven on March 22 and a 4-1 handling of Woltmershausen on March 8 have been offset by losses to Blumenthaler SV (4-1 on March 14), Leher TS (2-0 on March 27) and FC Oberneuland (1-0 on Feb. 27). The team also opened its season with a 1-0 win over Vatan Sport on Dec. 12.

Sebaldsbrueck travels to Bremen still smarting from Sunday’s 5-2 defeat at Leher TS. That loss was the latest in a difficult campaign. The visiting side has lost nine of its last 10 matches and has been outscored 32-10 in that span.

The slump began Dec. 6 with a 2-1 loss at Aumund-Vegesack, followed by a 4-2 defeat at home to BTS Neustadt on Nov. 30. Sebaldsbrueck did manage a 2-1 win over ESC Geestemunde on April 2, but that was its only bright spot in a stretch that includes a 6-0 loss at home to OSC Bremerhaven, a 4-1 loss at FC Oberneuland, a 7-0 thrashing by Brinkumer SV, a 3-1 loss at Vatan Sport and a 2-1 defeat to FC Union 60 Bremen.

In its other matches, Sebaldsbrueck lost 2-0 at Habenhauser FV on April 30 and 7-3 to Hemelingen on Dec. 13.

The Interstat game simulator projects a 4-2 victory for Eiche Horn, reflective of the home side’s superior recent form against a Sebaldsbrueck side that has allowed at least four goals in six of its last 10 matches.

Eiche Horn will look to end its skid and capitalize on Sebaldsbrueck’s defensive vulnerabilities. The visitors, meanwhile, will try to tighten up after conceding five at Leher TS.

Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. at Eiche Horn’s home ground.
