KIGALI, Rwanda (Interstat) — Bugesera FC and Marine FC meet Wednesday at Nyamirambo Stadium in a National Soccer League matchup critical for both teams’ positioning as the season enters its final stretch.

The match is scheduled for 4 p.m. local time.

Marine FC holds a slight edge in the recent head-to-head, having defeated Bugesera 2-1 on Nov. 30, 2025. Both teams enter Wednesday’s contest in uneven form. Marine is winless in its last three matches (two draws, one loss), most recently a 2-2 draw against Gasogi United FC on May 1. Bugesera dropped its last outing 1-0 at Muhanga on Sunday, its second defeat in three matches.

A simulator operated by league data partner Interstat projects a 1-1 draw, a result that would reflect the middling form of both sides. Marine’s defense has been porous, conceding multiple goals in its last two domestic league outings — a 2-0 loss to Police on April 25 and a 1-0 defeat to AS Kigali on April 17. However, the team showed resilience in a 1-1 draw against Al Hilal SC Omdurman on April 4.

Bugesera has collected three clean sheets in its last seven matches across all competitions, including a 1-0 win over Police on April 19 and a 2-0 victory at AS Kigali on March 21. The team has struggled to score consistently, tallying just two goals in its last four matches.

Marine’s most significant attacking threat stems from a 3-1 win over Mukura on March 21, one of only two victories in its last eight matches across all competitions. Bugesera’s offense has been similarly inconsistent, with three goals in its last five outings.

Defensively, Bugesera has allowed one goal or fewer in six of its last nine matches. Marine has kept just two clean sheets in its last 12 matches.

The result Wednesday could prove pivotal for the standings. Both teams have shown ability to secure draws against stronger opposition — Marine against APR FC and Gicumbi FC; Bugesera against APR FC and Amagaju FC.

Following Wednesday’s match, Bugesera travels to Gicumbi FC on Saturday, May 9, while Marine visits Rayon Sports the same day.
