Sinnamary vs Matoury

SINNAMARY, French Guiana (Interstat) — Sinnamary hosts Matoury on Saturday in a Régional 1 clash that could further define the title race in French Guiana’s top football division.

The teams met just a week ago, with Sinnamary winning 3-1 at Matoury on May 9. That victory extended Sinnamary’s recent dominance in the series. In the past three head-to-head contests, Sinnamary has won twice: a 2-1 victory on Jan. 24 and a 3-2 loss on Nov. 8, 2025.

Sinnamary enters Saturday’s match on a high after that May 9 win. Before that, the club routed d’Or de Mana 4-1 on April 11, blanked Remire 4-0 on March 21, but suffered a 4-1 loss to Agouado on Feb. 14. Overall, Sinnamary has shown offensive firepower, scoring three or more goals in four of its last six matches.

Matoury, meanwhile, is seeking to bounce back from the 3-1 home defeat. The draw at Cosma on May 9 — 1-1 — was preceded by a 2-1 loss to ASC Karib on April 29 and a 2-0 win at d’Or de Mana on April 25. Matoury’s form has been mixed, but the club has posted five clean sheets in its last 10 outings and has often been stingy defensively.

The game simulator from Interstat projects a 1-1 draw.

Saturday’s contest is part of a busy stretch for both clubs. Matoury will face Remire on May 16, then travel to Grand Santi on May 23, and host Grand Santi on May 30, followed by a match at Cosma the same day. Sinnamary will host Cosma on May 23, then face Le Geldar on May 30 and CSC Cayenne on June 6.

Kickoff is set for 3 p.m. local time at Stade Municipal de Sinnamary.
