Matoury vs Remire

MATOURY, French Guiana (Interstat) — Matoury hosts Remire on Saturday in a Régional 1 clash that pits the league’s form side against a visiting team looking to build momentum after a narrow win last week.

Matoury enters the match unbeaten in its past nine league outings, posting seven victories and two draws since late January. The most recent result was a 1-1 draw at Cosma on May 9. Overall, Matoury has outscored opponents 22-4 over that stretch, with four clean sheets in the last five games. The home side’s defense has been particularly stingy, conceding only once in its last four matches.

Remire, meanwhile, snapped a three-match winless run with a 1-0 victory at CSC Cayenne on May 10. Prior to that, the visitors had lost 4-0 at Sinnamary and 1-0 at Olymp de Cayenne, either side of a 2-2 draw against Cosma. Remire’s form has been inconsistent; the team has only two wins in its last 11 league matches, with five draws and four losses.

The head-to-head record favors Matoury. The clubs met twice last season: Matoury won 6-0 at Remire on Oct. 15, 2025, and the sides played to a 3-3 draw at Matoury on Aug. 16, 2025. Saturday’s contest is the first meeting this term.

Interstat’s game simulator projects a 2-0 victory for Matoury, reflecting the home side’s recent dominance and Remire’s struggles on the road, where the visitors have lost three of their last four away matches.

Both teams have busy schedules ahead. Remire returns home to face Le Geldar on May 23, then hosts Loyola on May 30. Matoury travels to Sinnamary immediately after Saturday’s game, then visits Grand Santi on May 23.

Kickoff is set for Saturday at a venue to be confirmed. The match is part of French Guiana’s top regional division, the Régional 1.
