CAYENNE, French Guiana (Interstat) — ASC Karib hosts Le Geldar on Saturday, May 30, in a critical Régional 1 matchup at Stade de Baduel, with both teams riding momentum into the late-season fixture.

The game marks a meeting between two of French Guiana’s top sides. Karib enters on a two-match winning streak after a 2-0 victory at Olymp de Cayenne on Sunday, while Le Geldar defeated Sinnamary 1-0 on May 23 after a two-week break.

Their most recent head-to-head, on Aug. 30, 2025, ended in a 1-1 draw at Le Geldar.

Karib (8-3-3 in its last 14 matches across all competitions) has been strong defensively, posting four clean sheets during that stretch. The squad defeated Grand Santi 3-2 on May 17 and played ASC Armire to a 1-1 draw on May 13. Its only loss since January was a 3-0 defeat at Cosma on Feb. 14.

Le Geldar (9-3-2 in its last 14) has been equally formidable. The team has won seven of its past nine matches, including a 4-2 victory over d’Or de Mana on May 9 and a 4-0 shutout of Olymp de Cayenne on April 12. Its only loss since December was a 3-2 defeat at Cosma on Feb. 7.
