Follon Gavorrano vs Tau Altopascio
FOLLON GAVORRANO, Italy (Interstat) — Follon Gavorrano will look to avenge a December drubbing when it hosts Tau Altopascio on Sunday in a Serie D clash at Stadio Malservisi-Matteini.
The match, scheduled for a 3 p.m. local kickoff, pits a home side that has found recent form against a visiting team riding a three-match unbeaten streak.
Tau Altopascio (projected 61.5% win probability by Interstat’s ELO system) enters Sunday having won two of its last three games. The visitors edged Terra Traiana 3-2 on April 26, then played to a 0-0 draw at Poggibonsi on April 19 after a 1-0 victory over Cannara on April 12. The run follows a 4-3 loss at Scandicci on April 2 and a 1-1 draw at Camaiore Calcio on March 28.
The most recent meeting between the sides was a rout: Tau Altopascio defeated Follon Gavorrano 6-1 at home on Dec. 21, 2025.
Follon Gavorrano (projected 38.5% win probability) comes off a 2-1 victory at Scandicci on April 26, snapping a three-game winless streak (0-2-1). Prior to that win, the hosts lost 1-0 at home to Orvietana Calcio on April 19 and drew 1-1 at Sporting Trestina on April 12, following a 1-0 win over Camaiore Calcio on April 2.
The home side has struggled for consistency this season, alternating wins, draws and losses over its last six matches. However, Follon Gavorrano has shown resilience at home, with three draws and two losses in its last five league fixtures at Stadio Malservisi-Matteini.
Serie D, the fourth tier of Italian football, features 166 teams divided into nine geographic groups. Follon Gavorrano, from the Tuscan town of the same name, and Tau Altopascio, based in Altopascio, compete in Group E.
Key storylines include whether Follon Gavorrano can tighten its defense after conceding six goals in the December loss to Tau Altopascio, and whether Tau Altopascio’s attack (Interstat) — which has scored at least one goal in eight of its last 11 matches (Interstat) — can break through again.
The Interstat game simulator projects a 2-1 victory for Tau Altopascio.
Neither team released injury reports or probable lineups by Thursday.
Sunday’s referee assignment has not been announced.
