ANDROMEDA, Italy (Interstat) — Fidel Andria will host FC Pompei on Sunday, May 3, in a Serie D matchup that pits one of the division’s strongest home sides against a Pompei team trying to rediscover its early-season form.

The game, which kicks off at 15:00 local time, carries added significance after Fidel Andria edged Pompei 1-0 in their most recent meeting Dec. 21. That result extended Andria’s head-to-head momentum, though the teams have traded narrow results in recent seasons.

Fidel Andria enters the weekend unbeaten in its last three matches. The side played to a 0-0 draw at Manfredonia on April 26, following a 2-1 home win over Sarnese on April 19 and a 2-0 victory at Virt Francavilla on April 12. That run of form – one win, two clean sheets in the last three – has lifted Andria to the upper tier of the Serie D standings.

But the team has been inconsistent overall. Losses to AC Afragolese (2-1 on March 22) and Nardo (3-2 on March 1) were punctuated by a 1-0 defeat at Gravina on Feb. 1. Still, Andria has shown resilience at home; its Feb. 22 win over Citta di Fasano (2-0) and a 1-0 victory versus Real Acerran on March 29 demonstrate a defense that has conceded only once in its last four matches.

FC Pompei arrives on a high after a 4-1 win over Virt Francavilla on April 26 – its largest margin of victory this season. That result snapped a three-match losing streak in which Pompei had conceded six goals without scoring. However, Pompei’s road form remains a concern. The side has lost four of its last five away matches, including a 2-0 defeat at Nardo on April 2, a 1-0 loss at ASD Real Normanna on March 15, and a 2-0 loss at Gravina on March 1. The only bright spot on the road during that stretch was a 1-1 draw at Citta di Fasano on March 29.
