TuS Issel vs SV 1919 Ober-Olm
ISSEL, Germany (Interstat) — TuS Issel will host SV 1919 Ober-Olm on Sunday in a Regionalliga clash that carries heavy implications for both sides, with the home team looking to rebound from a lopsided loss and the visitors hoping to halt a three-match slide.
Kickoff at Issel’s home ground is set for Sunday, May 3, 2026.
The matchup is the second meeting between the clubs this season. On March 8, TuS Issel traveled to Ober-Olm and claimed a 4-3 victory, a result that stands as one of the few bright spots in an otherwise uneven campaign for the home side.
TuS Issel enters Sunday’s contest after a 5-1 defeat at Montabaur on April 26, a result that stopped any momentum gained from a 2-1 win over SC Siegelbach on March 15. Before that, Issel had posted a 4-0 victory over Elversberg on Nov. 16 but also suffered a 4-0 home loss to Saarbrücken on Oct. 26. The team’s overall record in the current season includes wins against Siegelbach and Ober-Olm, draws with Elversberg and losses to Montabaur, Saarbrücken, SG 99 Andernach II and Riegelsberg.
SV 1919 Ober-Olm arrives in dire form, having lost its last three matches by a combined score of 17-0. The most recent defeat was a 6-0 thrashing at SG 99 Andernach II on April 26. Two weeks earlier, Ober-Olm managed a 0-0 draw at Elversberg, but that result was preceded by an 8-0 loss at Saarbrücken on March 15. Since the March 8 defeat to TuS Issel, Ober-Olm has scored just three goals in four league matches while conceding 22.
Earlier in the season, Ober-Olm showed flashes of promise: a 5-1 win at SC Siegelbach on Nov. 23 and a 4-1 victory at Wormatia Worms on Oct. 26. But those results were offset by heavy defeats to Montabaur (7-0 on Nov. 16) and Elversberg (6-0 on Oct. 5). The club has not kept a clean sheet since the 0-0 draw with Elversberg on April 19.
Interstat’s game simulator projects a 4-2 victory for TuS Issel, a forecast that aligns with the home team’s superior recent head-to-head record and Ober-Olm’s defensive struggles. Issel’s attack has been inconsistent but has shown the ability to score in bunches, as evidenced by the four-goal output in the March 8 meeting. Ober-Olm, meanwhile, has allowed four or more goals in five of its last seven league matches.
Both teams sit in the lower half of the Regionalliga table, but Sunday’s result could offer a measure of separation as the season enters its final stretch. Kickoff is at 3 p.m. local time.
