KAKAMEGA, Kenya (Interstat) — Vihiga United faces a daunting task Friday when it hosts 3K FC in a Kenya Super League matchup that pits a struggling side against one of the league’s most dominant forces.

Kickoff at the Municipal Stadium is set for 3 p.m.

3K FC enters the match riding a wave of momentum, having won its past four games by a combined score of 10-1. The visitors last played April 26, a 3-0 victory over Kabati Youth FC. Their hot streak includes wins over Naivas FC (2-1 on April 18) and Nairobi City Stars (3-0 on April 3), and they have lost just once in their past 11 contests.

Vihiga United, meanwhile, has lost four of its past five games, including a 4-0 drubbing at the hands of Equity Bank on April 26. The home side’s lone bright spot in that stretch was a scoreless draw against MCF on April 12.

Interstat’s game simulator projects a 5-0 victory for 3K FC, and the Interstat ELO system gives the visitors an 85.80 percent probability of winning.

The teams met most recently Dec. 13, with 3K FC taking a 4-2 victory.

3K FC’s schedule does not let up; it plays at Kibera Black Stars a day later, followed by a home match against SamWest Blackboots FC on May 10. Vihiga United also plays the next day, hosting Soy United on Saturday.
