Asteras Tripolis vs Atromitos

AP Sports Preview

TRIPOLI, Greece (Interstat) — Asteras Tripolis will seek to end a two-match losing streak against Atromitos when the teams meet Saturday, May 2, in a Super League 1 matchup at Theodoros Kolokotronis Stadium.

Atromitos enters the contest having defeated Asteras 2-1 at home on April 26, the most recent meeting between the clubs. That result extended Atromitos’ head-to-head winning streak to two matches, following a 2-1 victory on Feb. 21 in Tripoli. Asteras’ last head-to-head win came Nov. 30, 2025, a 1-0 decision at home.

Atromitos arrives in strong form, having won four of its last five matches overall. The April 26 win over Asteras followed a 4-0 thrashing of Panserraikos on April 22 and a 3-2 victory at AE Larisas 1964 on April 18. The only blemish in that stretch was a scoreless draw at Kifisias on April 8. Earlier results include a 1-1 draw with Puebla on April 4 and a 1-0 win over Puebla on Feb. 28. Atromitos also posted a 2-1 win at Asteras on Feb. 21 and a 2-2 draw at Panserraikos on Feb. 16. Other results this season: a 1-0 win at Kifisias on Feb. 7, a 2-1 loss at OFI on Jan. 31, and a scoreless draw with PAOK on Jan. 25.

Asteras Tripolis has struggled for consistency, with mixed results in recent weeks. After the April 26 loss to Atromitos, Asteras defeated Puebla 2-1 on April 22, played to a scoreless draw at Kifisias on April 18, and drew 0-0 at Panserraikos on April 8. A 3-1 win over AE Larisas 1964 on April 4 provided a bright spot, but that was followed by a 3-0 loss at Niki Volos on March 22. Other season results: a 2-2 draw at Anagen Karditsas on March 14, a 1-0 loss to Panserraikos on March 8, a 2-0 loss to Iraklis Elefsina on March 8, a 2-0 loss at PAOK on March 1, and a 1-0 win at Anagen Karditsas on Feb. 22.

Interstat’s game simulator projects a 1-1 draw.

Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. local time.
