Lauterach vs MS Korneuburg
LAUTERACH, Austria (Interstat) — MS Korneuburg visits Lauterach on Friday, May 22, in a Regionalliga matchup that pits the league’s hottest team against a side desperately trying to halt a slide.
Korneuburg (10-1-1 in its last 12) enters on a five-match winning streak, outscoring opponents 16-2 over that span. The visitors hammered Lustenau 4-1 on Saturday, May 16, continuing a surge that includes road wins at Wals-Grunau (5-1 on April 24) and Rheindorf Alt II (4-0 on April 21). Their only loss since March was a 2-1 defeat at Wacker Innsbruck on May 8.
Lauterach, meanwhile, has lost five of its last six, including a 4-1 defeat at Bischofshofen on May 16. The home side has not won since a 4-3 victory over Rheindorf Alt II on March 21, and has been outscored 20-7 in its past five losses. In its last four outings, Lauterach has allowed at least three goals each time.
The teams met Oct. 18, with Korneuburg winning 2-1 at home. That result fits the pattern: Korneuburg has taken three of the last four head-to-head meetings.
Interstat’s game simulator projects Korneuburg winning 2-1, a score line that would extend its run atop the table. Korneuburg next hosts Bischofshofen on May 30 before visiting Schwaz on June 6.
Lauterach faces a quick turnaround, visiting Hohenems on Wednesday, May 27, and then Schwaz on May 30. Kuchl visits June 4.
