NK Vrhnika vs NK Svoboda Ljubljana
VRHNIKA, Slovenia (Interstat) — NK Vrhnika will host NK Svoboda Ljubljana on Saturday in a 3. SNL matchup, with the home side seeking to replicate a dominant performance from their October meeting.
The match is set for 3 p.m. local time at Stadion NK Vrhnika.
Interstat’s game simulator projects a 3-0 victory for Vrhnika, a result that would mirror the form gap between the two sides entering the fixture.
Vrhnika enters the match on a strong run, coming off a 3-0 win at ND Bistrc on April 25. The victory continued a pattern of solid defensive performances. Vrhnika has won five of its last six matches, outscoring opponents 16-3 in that stretch after a 5-0 demolition of NK Žiri on April 18 and a 2-1 win over ND Idrija on April 4.
The head-to-head record heavily favors Vrhnika. The teams last met Oct. 18, 2025, when Vrhnika routed Svoboda 7-0 at Svoboda’s home ground. That result was the largest margin of victory in the recent series.
Svoboda, meanwhile, is struggling. The visiting side lost 3-1 at home to NK Roltek Dob on April 25, its third defeat in four matches. Svoboda’s only win in its last eight games came April 18, a 1-0 result at NK Rudar Trbovlje. Over that same stretch, Svoboda has managed just two goals while being shut out five times.
A 0-0 draw with NK Šenčur on April 11 and a scoreless tie at NK Šobec Lesce on April 4 further underscored Svoboda’s offensive difficulties. The club has not scored more than one goal in a match since a 4-3 win over ND Idrija on Nov. 15.
Vrhnika, by contrast, has shown consistent scoring depth. After their 7-0 outburst against Svoboda in October, the team posted a 5-0 win over NK IB 1975 Ljubljana on March 21 and a 3-0 victory over NK Fama Vipava on March 7. The club’s only recent stumble came in a 2-1 loss at NK Tolmin on April 11.
Kickoff conditions are expected to be mild. Both teams are in the middle of the 3. SNL table, but the matchup carries implications for final positioning in the third-tier Slovenian league.
Vrhnika will look to exploit Svoboda’s porous defense, which conceded seven goals in the last meeting and has allowed at least two goals in six of its last 10 matches.
