Soccer Preview: NK Izola vs. ND Bistrc

IZOLA, Slovenia (Interstat) — NK Izola aims to extend its late-season surge Saturday when it hosts ND Bistrc in a 3. SNL match at Športni Park Izola.

Izola enters the May 2 fixture on a strong run, having won three of its past four matches. The club is coming off a resounding 5-1 victory at NK Žiri on April 25. In that contest, Izola’s offense showed its potency, scoring five goals for the second time this campaign.

The home side’s recent form includes a 3-1 win at ND Idrija on April 11 and a 3-1 home victory over NK Škofja Loka on April 4. Its only blemish in the last four outings was a 4-2 home loss to NK Tolmin on April 18. Over the past five matches, Izola has averaged 3.4 goals per game.

Bistrc, conversely, has struggled mightily. The visitors have lost four of their last five contests. On April 25, Bistrc suffered a 3-0 home defeat to NK Vrhnika. The result followed a 3-0 loss at NK Roltek Dob on April 18 and a 2-1 defeat at NK Rudar Trbovlje on April 11.

Bistrc’s lone bright spot in recent weeks was a 3-1 victory at NK Šobec Lesce on March 28. However, the club has been outscored 12-1 in its last four defeats. Bistrc’s only draw this spring came in a scoreless match at NK Fama Vipava on March 15.

The teams last met Oct. 18, 2025, playing to a 1-1 draw at Bistrc. In that match, the sides were evenly matched throughout.
